It was brilliant of David Cameron to remind us that we should be thinking more about our happiness and well being. Money does not buy happiness, just look at the McCartney/Heather Mills break up.
Although in theory this should be simple, and some might have it in abundance, the reality is that the stress and pressures of modern living leaves people feeling really screwed up.
If they’ve got sense, they will turn to someone like Mark Newey, an experienced coach and NLP practitioner of Winning Minds, whose techniques are similar to those as Paul McKenna.
One does get the impression that David Cameron seems a balanced sort of guy, if appearances are anything to go by. He is endorsing a “back to basics” life balance philosophy, and a common sense one too that we all need reminding about.
I met up with Mark today to discuss our future press work and the subjects we agreed on were 10 tips to survive the summer holidays (a nightmare time for many people for different reasons) and tacking stress in the business environment; company’s have legal obligations regarding the health and well being of their staff.
If you want to de-stress, you can get some great tips from Mark’s web, including overcoming fears and phobias and dealing with negative and depression.

Interesting article debating human happiness here http://www.slate.com/id/2072079/entry/2072402/
between Martin Seligman and Steven Pinker
Happiness very much depends on who we meet in life and particularly who we have as our ‘Partner’ in life too. Many people are content on their own – for the time being, however I truly believe that all of us humans were meant to be with someone i.e. to find our soul mate in life but how rare is it nowadays to find such couples. Thankfully at Tempting Fate we’ve managed to achieve this with many members.
Not sure about elsewhere, but I think here in the States, a lot of us could use some pointers from Cameron.
Oh well, back to work 😉

Yes I was interested in this too.
My research interest is in the values held by organisations. They go far beyond financial and typical IP values and, if there is one glue in our disintermediating society, is relationships and the values that make them work.
Geoff, thanks for the link, I don’t there there is any topic that you can’t follow up with an appropriate blog site.
And Liza and leverwealth are quite right too about the importance of relationships. A soul mate should be treasured.
Yup…it’s all about the basics! And contentment at home helps gives you the strength to deal with the world. Money doesn’t give you contentment…or even happiness for that matter! What matters is the connection with other hman beings close to you and when better to celebrate that than the 2 weeks off in the sun (well…if you go abroad that is!)
You can be happy spending 2 weeks in a garden shed if you are with the right person, far preferable than being in paradise with someone who makes you feel wretched.
Yeah brilliant of Cameron to talk about something as nebulous as happiness, not for a change.
