If you have a spare bedroom or two, would you use it to bring in extra income and run a bed and breakfast? This article in Lady magazine describes what happens when one couple decide to do just his – and they even boast their own “boutique piglets”, which I find hilarious, but not an attraction. However, their base in Suffolk’s Constable Country, a favourite walking area for me, is the only lure I need to entice me through their posh front doors.

There is a very upmarket new b & b just outside Ely in a hamlet called Stuntney. (see pics) The Old Hall  looks very grand compared to the b & bs I have visited in the past. This one has a unique history too as Elizabeth Steward, the mother of Oliver Cromwell was born on its site. I wonder if her ghost haunts the house, just as Cromwell’s spirit is said to haunt Oliver Cromwell’s former house in Ely.

Let’s face it, who couldn’t do with an extra pound or two at the end of the week. And providing home-from-home comforts this way could be just the answer. Is it something you would consider?
