If you have a spare bedroom or two, would you use it to bring in extra income and run a bed and breakfast? This article in Lady magazine describes what happens when one couple decide to do just his – an
d they even boast their own
“boutique piglets”, which I find hilarious, but not an attraction. However, their base in Suffolk’s Constable Country, a favourite walking area for me, is the only lure I need to entice me through their posh front doors.
There is a very upmarket new b & b just outside Ely in a hamlet called Stuntney. (see pics) The Old Hall looks very grand compared to the b & bs I have visited in the past. This one has a unique history too as Elizabeth Steward, the mother of Oliver Cromwell was born on its site. My mother-in-law in London , does take in International Students ,, not sure she did it this summer though. It is all done through a school.. can be doctors, lawyers etc etc, not talking about young young students. Each room as its own TV but they do have to share a bathroom .. but it is only two students at a time .. or maybe one for a good few weeks.

Ellee: I could use the extra dollars (US), however, it takes a certain temperment to manage a B&B. I don’t have the desire. But perhaps one day I’ll try a stay in one! 🙂
I’d sooner stuff the spare bedroom with widgets that I’d sell on Ebay.
I would hate to run a B&B!
No way!
Dont think C would approve! 🙂
