Defeated Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik is joined by a host of oddballs in the latest screening of “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!“. I’m not sure why actor Nigel Havers is included as I considered him quite sane.

I can only suspect that Lembit tried, and was rejected, to appear on the more glamorous Strictly Come Dancing show where his former political rival Ann Widdicombe continues to win public support. Clearly she wants to entertain and if she suddenly gets booted off the series, why can’t she be parachuted into the jungle to liven up the camp and eat a few beasties?

I’m A Celebrity is one show where I feel she could triumph in her own right and won huge admiration for her steely no-nonsense, bossy style. And no doubt Ann and Lembit would make great TV bed-fellows sharing neighbouring hammocks. Is it too late for TV producers to take note?
