Labour really screwed up with its “Tory toff” campaign in the Crewe and Nantwich by-election.
You don’t get much “posher” than Eton-educated Boris and if Londoners think he is the man to run their fine city, then Labour should have learned a lesson from this. It should have been fresh on their minds.
Because Labour doesn’t listen and learn, 
Conservative candidate Edward Timpson stomped ahead with a stunning victory and a staggering 17.6% swing. Voters could see right through the stinging personal attacks, it was a turn off. And they are also fed up with rising taxes and post office closures, all the things that have made their lives worse under a Labour government. They clearly wanted to send a message to Gordon Brown.
Now all we need is Boris’ father Stanley to win his son’s Henley seat to complete Conservative’s string of successes. It’s got to be a dead cert.
I just hope the Conservatives don’t take their foot off the gas – bring on Henley!

Labour are just empty. I wonder if they didn’t run with the suicidal Tory Toff thing because their cupboard is bare. What were they going to campaign on ? Education ? The health service ? Tax ? Immigration ?
Frankly it may have been a damage limitation exercise !

Great news
People who have always voted Labour switching to the Conservatives, because of the confidence they have in the party – and their contempt for Labour.
This is a historic victory in a Northern formerly Labour seat, and hopefully is a sign that British politics is being transformed.
I thought that Labours fake toffs looked rather smart, but lets hope this a step to dumping bloody Nu Labour and Gordon Brown…

And what will David Cameron’s policies be on crime, immigration, the economy etc ?
We don’t know.
My guess is that he won’t offer this country what it so desperately needs.

So what of Cameron’s Prius, wind turbine, abuse of his position to deny a needy child of a place in a good school when he could have paid fees like a proper Tory ? All indicative of more hypocrisy to come. I won’t mention by name the 17 Tory MEPs who’ve failed to disclose expenses (as listed on Guido)

Timpson and his wife are a rather attractive young couple are they not?
So intelligent, well educated and beautiful – what better credentials should one have? Then again I’m unashamedly biased.
Hate-filled attacks of any kind are abhorrent. Whether this is based on race, religion, social class or any other artificial grouping, it is wrong.
Labour should be ashamed of themselves. I feel more and more like we are living in George Orwell’s Animal Farm – everyone is equal except the Labour elite at the top, and whoever their latest hate victim is at the bottom.
