Happy Easter everyone. I want to have some family time this
Easter, so blogging will be light. It won’t be long before David flies the nest and heads off to uni and I want us to enjoy as many family trips together as possible before he leaves.
It’s difficult to plan days out for teenage boys, but I thought they might enjoy The London Bridge Experience, which takes you deep into vaults which were once the plague pits of 14th century London, it is not for the faint hearted. I know I shall come out white-faced.
I’ve also planned a trip dog racing to Peterborough Greyhound Stadium with my Uncle Peter. He makes me laugh because he always has a tip on the horses or dogs, but whenever we go racing together, he never seems to win. He’ll often ring up to tell me about a good win, but this never seems to happen when we are together. Maybe I bring him bad luck….
Update Easter Day morning: Happy White Easter everyone, who would have thought it, though I do remember snow in June once m
any years ago. I remember writing to a friend about it who was doing VSO in Papua New Guinea.
I took this pic in my back garden at 8am, and the snow is coming down thick and fast with lovely soft flakes. It’s a great day to get the sledges out and go to Cherry Hill in Ely – the only hill in the flat Fenland landscape for miles around.
In the last 10 minutes, the snow has become an inch thicker, the sky is just full of it. I wonder if the snow gritters were out yesterday, I didn’t see any, and snow was forecast. We have to drive to Wisbech to see my family this morning, I wonder how clear the roads will be.
I did want to chill out over Easter, but not to this extreme. Are you having a white Easter too?
Enjoy your trips.
Happy Easter!
I visited the London Bridge Experience a few years ago and really enjoyed it 🙂
Hope you have a great Easter!
I’ll be in London for ‘Hairspray’ and ‘Wicked’ in November, so I may take in that London Bridge Experience.
Well Elle,
dunno about the London Experience
but certainly heard about the LOndon Dungeons
As for greyhound racing
Old grandpa was a champion greyhound trainer from Iraland (Tipperary) who used to race gis dogs and horses in England – and WIN.
Many an old newspaper cutting around
Lovely Spring weather here, Ellee.
Happy Easter.
Lucky you Kevin, though your kids might like a white Easter too, even if it does feel more like Christmas. It is still snowing really hard and James has just gone off to Cherry Hill with his sledge which his grandad made many moons ago, it even has a brass plaque with his name.
Enjoy the snow whilst it lasts Ellee, it’s melting on contact here, have a good Easter!
Surprised nobody wanted to comment on this Charming Man.
Brrr!!
You have snow? We don’t.
no snow here Ellee though we did have a snow flurry when I was walking the dog on the beach yesterday. Just rain today! Have a good weekend.
Snow — how depressing. But, Happy Easter and Happy Spring, anyway.
HAPPY EASTER ELLEE! You did give me a chuckle as you reminded me of the late Dudley Moore’s line in “Arthur” when he recognized a man in restaurant and approached him with …”Uncle Peter!!!!” A great scene! I hope you enjoy the holiday with your family! HAVE FUN!!!
Happy Easter, Ellee! I think I’d break down sobbing if it snowed here at Easter. We had a bit of sunshine earlier butnow it’s sort of overcast and grey.
I don’t know about the London Bridge Experience, but I went to the London Dungeon when there and my friend and I giggled all the way through, including all the stuff about Jack the Ripper. If we didn’t laugh, we would have probably screamed ourselves silly! Lotta fun! I’m sure teenage boys will LOVE both those places.
The snow has all but melted now and today we are heading for London for the London Bridge Experience. We had been planning to travel by train but half the line is shut due to repairs with a replacement bus service so we shall drive to Redbridge and get the tube in.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
I hope you had a great Easter Ellee. I never knew about that London Bridge Experience. There must be hundreds of things like that we never find out about.
Maalie, I hope you had a good Easter too, I knew nothing about this place either, I read about it somewhere and thought my sons would enjoy it as it sounds really creepy. Our capital city is lovely to visit, though it’s always nice to come home.
Happy Easter to you and yours, Ms Ellee.
xx
Easter Monday kind of marred the weekend for me!
I’ve had a I’ve had a spot of bother today, kids, coppers, cameras, cctv, and a big waste of police time!
Is it a problem of attitude? I.E. now vs 1970’s?
I’d be interested in some views.
Hi, Ellee. Would you belive we have a storm in Sicily and even HAIL??!
happy easter ellee! we had HUGE storms in the desert, flash floods in fact and had to drive 85km in mud barely making it out!
Lots of fun! :o)
Hope you had a great Easter and a profitable evening at the dogs’
Happy Easter, Ellie. It is snowy here too.
But Easter won’t fall this early for another 200 years or so, so next year should be more temperate!
