I’m off to York today to spend the day with Julian Sturdy. A pity there is never time to tour the city because it is stunning and I would love to study its history and architecture.
Apologies for the light blogging this week, but when duty calls, a girl has to do what a girl has to do…
You are hectic this week aren’t you Ellee? Have a break over easter if you can!
I went to York Uni and loved it – say hi to it for me!
The daffodils spread around the castle walls are a highlight of the spring – take a pic if you can!
You really ought to make the time to spend a week in York, there are some excellent hotels near the racecourse, and of course it’s only a few minutes away from Hull.
There is an ancient law which entitles and Englishman to kill a Scotchman in the City of York if the Scotchman is in possession of a bow and arrow.
Why not invite Gordon Brown to an archery competition while you’re there, Elle ?
Light blogging or not, you are always interesting, Ellee. I’ve only been to York once and I loved it – I wish I could have had more time there.
Curly, I would love to spend a week there, I love the Yorkshire countryside too.
Kevin, you are absolutely right, but I am not sure if it would be a defence in a British court of law today.
Welshcakes, thank you, and I wish there were more hours in the day. It was a very long day yesterday with a 1 1/2 hour delay on my train journey home, and then I found a parking ticket on my car at the station which was not justified in my view. Still, it was a very successful visit.
