Does anyone have any idea why, when I download YouTubes from my Sanyo Xacti C5, it doesn’t show the whole video, just the top left hand quarter?
I’m wondering whether it is something to do with Windows Vista, I do not recall having this problem before changing my computer. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Do you mean when you import a video you have taken with your Xacti to your computer?
I don’t understand the ‘download YouTubes from Xacti’ bit !?
Hi Mike, yes, you are right, I tend to think download and import are the same thing.
Are you doing this? Or using Adobe Premier Elements?:
In the Autoplay dialog box that displays when you turn on the camera, click Import Video.//
In the Name box, type a name for the video file or files that you will create, import, and then save to your computer.//
Choose location to save your video file from the Import to list.//
In the Format list, choose Windows Media Video File (single file), and then click Next.//
Click Import the entire videotape to my computer, and then click Next.//
Click Finish.// The video is saved as a file on your computer and appears in Windows Photo Gallery.
Mike, I can confirm it is a Vista problem. I have an old laptop with Windows XP and the videos import there ok, the whole image is visible, and that is not the case with Vista on my new pc, so I imagine I do need to download some software.
I do have Adobe, but not Premier Elements. I will try what you suggest too, that sounds really helpful. Many thanks, your advice is much appreciated.
My advice – dump Vista! 🙂
Even better – buy a Mac! 😉
Hi Ellee,
That’s quite an unusual problem. A reason that i could think of is the video quality you select when importing the video to the pc. Can you tell if you fixed the problem and what you did?
Thanks
