Tonight they include Chief Whip Geoff Hoon; Conservative MP John Redwood; Lord Ashdown, former leader of the Liberal Democrats; editor Janet Street-Porter and CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour.
However, it’s always the unpredictability of the audience that brings this live programme to life. I have previously admitted to having a soft spot for David Dimbleby. I was once in the audience, he had such a warm and open manner, he was great fun.
My hunch is that questions tonight could include the true cost of migrant workers in the UK, Northern Rock and the position of Mervyn King, supermarket price fixing, as well as the subject of ageism and Sir Menzies Campbell. What else do you think might come up? They usually throw in a light hearted one too, it might be about Mourinho’s shock departure from Chelsea.
You can check out if the programme is coming to your area and join in, it is great fun, and you get well fed too.
Update: Like Iain, I have heard that Brown could announce a general election on the last day of the Labour Party Conference. If nothing is said then, the chances are it won’t happen this autumn. Will this get a mention tonight?
