For those of you who have been following James Turmbridge’s Herculean challenge for Mid-Norfolk, I’m afraid it ended with a disappointing result for him today, particularly after his stomach churning fight against the odds to make it through to the final selection.
He did brilliantly to stand against 18 A-listers and make it this far, he displayed considerable fortitude, professionalism and determination and his actions and performance impressed many.
James will no doubt continue with his search for a seat in Norfolk and will hopefully be given the opportunity to display his many talents in the next general election.
Without doubt, the finalists were all extremely capable and talented, and there can only be one winner. So congratulations to George Freeman, who last year led a very vigorous and solid campaign in Stevenage and can only improve on that result in Mid-Norfolk.
James will get his chance at the next election; I’m sure he impressed others.
Stevenage results for 2005/2001 – it could be close next time round:

Well Done to James – maybe he’ll get North Norfolk or Norwich North?
James did exceptionally well at the selection on Saturday afternoon. He is an asset to the party and I hope the right people have noticed. I wish him all the best.
Anonymous, thank you for that positive feedback, I’m sure James will be very appreciative. I hope the right people noticed too. James is a thoroughly decent man of integrity and I know his moment will come.
James fought an excellent campaign in norwich north last timewith little backing from a poor constituency organisation he fully deserves a seat next time and should be on the A list.
Norfolk Friend, James is most definitely A-list standard and hopefully his outstanding performance in Mid-Norfolk will prove this and elevate him there.
