I met up with a couple of PR buddies last night, including Chris Dodson, whose business has the brilliant name Mightier Than The Sword.
It seems he also tried to get on the other A list which everyone is talking about, but was rejected.
For some reason he wanted to join The Apprentice, and this is much harder than getting on to the Tory A list.
He applied to join the first series and duly arrived for an interview at a hotel in London. Instead of meeting the beligerant, no-nonsense plain speaking Sir Alan, he was asked by a young interviewer whether he would let someone else take the blame if he a project he worked on failed. That was all he was asked.
Chris and his conscience could not lie, and so his dreams of stardom were shattered. Still, he can always buy Sir Alan’s book, which I did for my teenage son, who still hasn’t mastered the important first tip about keeping a tidy desk.
Maybe Chris would like to try again, and for anyone else interested, here is the online application form. One of the questions asks if you have ever been fired. If not, there is always a first time, and in front of 6.6 million viewers.
