Still on a high after yesteday’s excitement, I headed off to Cambridge to lunch and network with an eclectic mix of businesswomen from the Cambridge Women’s Lunch Club. It’s not as twee as it sounds. Cambridge isn’t that kind of place, it’s a high calibre group of very bright, sparky women.
Today was the club’s first anniversary and we were asked to donate prizes for a draw. My donation was three hours of blog coaching – a priceless gift and one which might well transform their lives.
Business cards were thrown in the hat and I was one of the first lucky prize winners, just now waiting for an excuse to open a bottle of very classy bubbly kindly given by the fabulous Caroline Biggs and Elizabeth Wyber of Simply Social. Maybe when my blog comments reach double figures – hope that won’t be too long.
Loads of prizes were donated and many, including mine, will be drawn at lunches throughout the rest of the year.
A round of applause to the trio who run the club, Jane Horwood, of Catfish Web Design, Kath McGuire and Agnès Auber, the brains behind Small Spark I.T. Training . Agnès also runs French for All .
You are a mine of useful information Ellee! Pleased to learn about the Cambridge Women’s Lunch Club – sounds interesting.
As the provider of the bubbly for the effervescent Ellee I have to tell you she has enthused me to get into this blogging stuff, something I had previously thought had something to do with a lonley individual living in Iraq. However, now that I am fully enlightened I agree with Ellee that this is a great way to communicate with like minded people. So a big thank you to Ellee and don’t forget to have a look at the wonderful Simply Social website – we organise social events for women, mainly in and around Cambridge as well as some exotic trips further afield. Cheer Ellee and enjoy the bubbly.
It’s really good to get such positive feedback and I would be delighted to help you – as well as your excellent Simply Social group – set up a blog. It’s a fascinating and endless source of new information, as well as a platform to share your thoughts.
Hi Ellee!
I am glad that you enjoyed your present!
Many thanks for sharing celebrating our first anniversary lunch!
I look forward to seeing you and maybe some of our fellow bloggers at the next lunch.
