I keep playing it over and over again, the breathtaking opening ceremony of London 2012 Olympics. I loved the fact that it was a best kept secret so we were able to enjoy thrill after thrill after thrill.
Thank you Danny Boyle for making us proud to be British, for your humour, wit and story telling, for a great cast plucked from every day life, your great eye for detail and incredible creativity, and the triumphant technical wizadry that made it so spectacular. What a night to remember, one that has the whole country swelling with pride, and truly the best show on earth that we have experienced in the UK.
I know our sportsmen and women will also do us proud, and I look forward to being there next weekend at some athletics events. Whoopee! I’d love James Bond to pick me up. Here’s hoping….

I too loved the ceremony (and so did everyone I ask). It was so perfectly English, capturing our history, art, music, culture and piecing it together in such a clever way.
The Queen was such a good sport 🙂
I find it rather disappointing to see how bloggers who do know better, report the ceremony in bad light.
