Within hours of Mark Zuckerberg floating Facebook on the stock exchange, he surprised us all by getting married in a low key ceremony in his garden to his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan who had just graduated from medical school.
I’m so happy for them both, it’s the perfect end of a perfect week for them both. I have just visited Zuckerberg’s Facebook site where more than 800,000 followers have “liked” his announcement, including me.
I love the film Social Network, it’s one of my favourites. The story of a young Harvard geek, the double crossing of friends, and fame and fortune at a price, resulting in a social media phenomenon. I was tempted to buy shares, but was advised they were too pricey, so I held back.
I think we have so much more to see yet from this terrific guy.
But first of all, congratulations to the happy couple. I hope they continue to stay grounded and true to their characters, despite their immense wealth.
Can’t help wondering if she signed a pre-nup.
Married in the garden ? I wouldn’t say that’s perfect. It’s pretty tight actually, especially as she’s just qualified and will be able to get cheap drugs.
I think the whole Facebook thing is a bubble and will go the way of Dot.com. It’s already past its best so how will it continue to make money ?
I can’t stand it. I had to open an account in order to have a look at what my ‘friends’ were doing, thought it was tosh and never went back again. My account got taken over by spammers and their mailshots offended my real friends so I closed my account down – only for it to reopen again… and again… and again…
Can’t say I’m unhappy to have called this one right.
There is something unhealthy about a person who won’t splash the cash and have a bit of fun.
I am also looking forward to what Zuckerberg has up his sleeves. I am a facebook and IT fanatic, and like to stay up to date on the latest technology news. But I also enjoy your blog and was happy to find out about his wedding via your blog. Thanks!
