I am stunned to find that I have been ranked among the UK’s top 50 bloggers for “politics, technology and styleâ€, according to data analysed by the global media
intelligence organisation Cision, ranked at 47.
It’s particularly unexpected because my blogging has taken a back seat over the last year or so due to my other varied commitments. I am amazed to find I have squeezed in at 47 after spending little time on my blog compared to two or three years ago, something I feel very guilty about.
The index relates to independent blogs, and many in the top 50 are naturally well known names in blogosphere. Well done particularly to John Redwood for making it to No. 8.
This is how Cision came up with its list.
“While we continue to put a premium on link analysis, there is now a greater weighting for engagement as expressed by the volume and nature of comments on the blogs. To recognize the fact that our traffic sources contain a US-bias, we’re now putting less emphasis on monthly uniques.
The large number of political blogs reflects the fact that, while UK readers will readily turn to international sources for news about technology, even celebrity, those with an appetite for UK political debate are best served by the UK blogosphere.â€

Ellee – well done! Thoroughly deserved award.
well done Ellee……but you should never feel guilty about not blogging so often, blogging should be done as and when you want to do it not because you think you should be doing it…that way it stays fun and most of all enjoyable 🙂
Congratulations Ellee, it is well deserved 🙂
A good achievement Ellee, well done. Maybe with the election coming up we will see you rise further!!
Well done Ellee .
I always enjoy your blogs even if I dont always agree with you !
I’d look at who they consider to be any good before taking any comfort from it.
The Bad Science ‘blog’ is by far the most rigourous and best-informed. You could let your children read it and they’d come away better infomred about the world. Something that’s definitely not true about the vast majority of those blogs. And some are downright ignorant to the point of idiocy on issues in my own field (science).
You’re nice though and I like to read the stuff on here. Particularly your head injury and health stuff.
Well done, Ellee. You deserve to rise much higher.
Thank you all.
Steve, I enjoy reading the Bad Science blog too and follow it on twitter (I think the author is also Cambridge based).
I shall certainly be writing more about head injury and health too. I do have eclectic interests, including agriculture and the environment, women’s issues and politics, Alzheimer’s and caring for our elderly, as well as Toastmaster, long country walks and missing people, so there should be something for most people here. I have even mentioned football!
Congratulations Ellee. You certainly deserve it a you bring attention to lots of different and interesting things.
Congratulation, Ellee. I think you deserve to be on more higher place.
Congrat’s Elle for your achievement. You have deserved it. I have read your blogs and they are very impressive & useful for your readers.
