My mother was thrilled with the Buddy Holly show I took her to
in Cambridge last night and sang along to all the old favourites from the Everly Brothers and Elvis. She said she could see it again and again and had to ring my sister during the interval to tell her what a wonderful time she was having.
For me the best is yet to come as we head for the London Colosium today to see one of my favourite dancers, the thrilling Cuban star Carols Acosta.
The show is called Carlos in Cuba, and it should be a dazzling affair as Acosta joins up with the Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, and the show also features 18 dancers and a full live Cuban band.
It’s had mixed reviews, but I’m confident the Royal Ballet principal dancer will not disappoint.
I think my mother will definitely go home on a high!
sounds fantastic … hope you and your mum have a fab time x
I would LOVE to see Carlos Acosta – oh you lucky things!
Ellee, you do love posting about young men, don’t you? 🙂
I’d have sung along wih your Mum, Ellee!
Gee, I’ve just caught up on a week’s worth of your posts and can’t believe how much has happened. Wish I could have seen those two shows. 😀
And I missed the Jethro Tull concert in Cambridge last week. I’m told it was SOLD OUT, packed with fifty-somethings, and though some of the band were in the seventies I hear the music was still great!
