ade was at least spared the public humiliation of being thrown into the lion’s den on her eviction from Celebrity Big Brother last night.
She vehemently denied being racist and apologised for her offensive remarks, but will this be enough to save her crumbling career which lies in tatters? What future awaits her now?
I personally felt her response was very composed and well rehearsed in the circumstances, she did not seem visibly shocked, she must have been warned about the impact her behaviour against Shilpa had had globally.
At least the producers enjoyed unprecedented publicity and ratings, but viewing figures will now slump while the remaining housemates will continue with their witless and boring days.
Will Jade be lucky like Kate Moss, who can do no wrong and clawed back her lost lucrative contracts after apologising for drug abuse? Will Jade accept the ingenious offer from the India Tourism Office to visit their country. Their full page advert in yesterday’s Times tells Jade and friends:
“The best way to understand Incredible India is to visit and we look forward to welcoming you soon.”
I don’t somehow see her packing a bag in a hurry and heading for Mumbai.
Update: An clever move by Jade to donate her fee for appearing on Celeb Big Brother to charity, as well as her fee for a News of the World interview.
The lesson from this is to record bullies in action and play it back to them on video so they can see how offensive their actions are.
Update: 21 January, Jade confesses to bullying Shilpa in today’s News of the World. Meanwhile, a massive shock awaits Danielle as she has reportedly been dumped by Teddy whose team mates have been “bitterly hurt” by her comments.
I have no doubt she will pick up some lucrative package somewhere. Maybe the BNP will recruit her as a publicity agent…
I thought she did look shocked when they showed her that montage of news clips.
In the circumstances, she spoke well, especially given her limited vocabulary. I still don’t like her though.
Jade will not be so lucky as Cocaine Kate. People have seen Jade’s behaviour on tv and will remember it. She will have to rehabilitate herself in a major way if she has any chance of saving herself.
This is a vital issue for the world is it, Lady Ellee? Is this Jade Chinese or the new Tory candidate for a northern town or what? ‘Scuse the ignorance still.
Jade shares her manager with the three presenters of the different Big Brother programmes so what else did you expect?
Her manager is John Noel and he also manages Davina McCall, Russell Brand and Dermot O’Leary.
Doesn’t it make you wonder that if all bullies saw video footbage of themselves in action, what impact it might have, they might rethink their abusive behaviour.
Morningstar, I didn’t know that, I wonder what plans her manager has for Jade now.

I wanted to post on this today to follow it through to its conclusion for overseas readers who have been following this sorry saga. I guess Jade compares unfavourably against your Russian nymphs, she won’t be a welcome import.
That’s a good point about other bullies being shown their own behaviour on video, Ellee. I haven’t seen any more clips here so it’s hard to comment. The fiasco is being reported here but it’s not front page news. That was quite clever of the India Tourist Board, though!
She’ll be fine. I wouldn’t put it past Endemol to organise an Indian Celebrity BB and put her in the house in the Shilpa role The whole thing was a stitch-up to revive the fortunes of a deservedly flagging show. All the key players in this lucrative little drama share the same agent…

Mrs N , who is black , has what I thought was an insight. She said some of the remarks were somewhat rude but it was not really racism because it was not “motivated” by race. Itwas motivated by class and insecurity. Mrs. N comes from nearby Jade in Bermondsey and would know how to answer her in her own terms .
The problem here was the bullying.Adding that language into a situation where a majority victimise an unsupported outsider and the picture will of course communicate itself as a micrcosm of the experience of many immigrants.One sympathises greatly.
In fact it was nothing of the sort and I will not have the craven “multi cultural” agenda, and honey pot, gaining any supprt from it.
Hindus are unlikely to be as mortified as they appear and those i know here took it very much less than seriously. We do not have a problem with them we have a problem with Islamis fascism which is riddled with homophobia hatred of this country and racism.
Had the girl been a Muslim it would have been altogether nastier. An interesting and revealing episode.

I’m afraid that if you show most bullies a video of their bad behaviour, they will not recant, but ask for the file to post on YouTube! (Jade only recanted because she has a millionaire lifestyle to support). Last time I looked, YouTube was full of video clips of blullying/ playground fights, the links to which the perpetrator no doubt forward to the whole school etc. Presumably, the whole experience of being beaten up etc. is made all the worse if you know it is being posted online. Still, at leats YouTube will pull these videos if you complain. But someone decent has to stumble across them first.

David, When you consider we have young people who regard ASBOs as a badge of honour, I guess there will always be those who are totally thick skinned and see nothing wrong in their bullying behaviour.
Having never seen any of these – Idol, Big Brother, whatever, I don’t know how they work. Do they just live in a house with cameras and have sex or something? I saw an outcry in the online press about this. And what is eviction? From the programme and why the tears? Is there money in these, as in game shows?
