It’s time to stretch my legs again, so I’m making the most of today’s glorious sunshine and joining Geoff and his bunch of Cambridge buddies for a day’s walking and stimulating conversation.
We are heading off to Castle Acre in Norfolk, for a 15 mile ramble, only I can’t find one of my walking boots, so must dash.
Have a good time, Ellee.
Sounds like you’ll have a great day. I hope the weather holds out for you!
Equally fabulous in North London today. Was out for four hours – much of it walking briskly. Amazing the people one bumps into. Henry Kelly at the Spaniards, a couple of friends at the Bull & Bush and a work colleague at Golders Hill Park where ice-creams,yes, ice-creams were being served. Who says global warming is bad!
Noe Ellee, what was the stimulating conversation about? Not politics, surely!
Jeremy, Glad you made the most of the extra hour too and bumped into a few familiar faces, as well as Henry Kelly.
Our walk started justed after 10am and finished by moonlight at 5pm, it ended up being 16.4 miles because of some mistaken navigation, but it was glorious weather and the countryside was at its best, and it was a new walking record for me. There was one scary moment when we were lost in a forest, but we made it, passing many fine selections of wild mushrooms in the process.
The worst part was the journey home when my Sat Nav went haywire and chose the weirdest route back which took an extra 40 mins than necessary.
It’s now time to put my feet up and read the papers – all history now, of course.
I don’t do Sat Nav. What’s wrong with an A-Z?!!
Jeremy, Presumably you’ve heard about women and maps, how their brains can’t fathom them, a generalisation, I know, but it’s certainly true for me.
Did you make it round in one boot?
What sort of boots Ellee? I do a bit of walking too and use Scarpa Attacks. Great support, and grip..
Lived in them over the last 4 weeks, having just returned from a 9000k trip. :o)
Hey, thats sounds exciting. You had a good day. Wish you posted some pics of the plcae.
The weather is lovely, have a nice walk, sorry that was yesterday..so I mean, hope you had a nice walk and are not suffering today with blisters.
Simon, I could do with some better boots, my toes were sore this morning, but otherwise I am fine. A 9,000k trip is very impressive, I have a long way to go to catch you up.
Raj, I have just posted some pics on flickr, some of my walking companions are shy and do not want their pics posted on the web, so there are not too many, but you will see a lovely ruined abbey and a beautiful country house, as well as the village we set off from called Castle Acre. http://www.flickr.com/photos/elleeseymour/?saved=1
So glad you enjoyed our walk from castle acre, and you did so well with the extra miles.
It was great to have some new people join our little group, you were all good comopany and hope you will join us again some time.

Sally, I greatly enjoyed the company too, I only decided to join you on a whim at 8am that day and am really pleased I did. I’m very proud of my new achievement too. Good luck with the 20 miles, I think you are made of sturdier stuff than me and will take it all in your stride.
