It’s time for our family hols, to literally push out the boat and cruise around the Med for a couple of weeks. We are being joined by my incorrigible mum Loula, as well as and some friends and their three young kids.
And for those of you who lament the fact that there are fewer women bloggers than men, I will leave you with this parting shot from Ann Hawkins, which should remind you that women are, nevertheless, the superior race:
“Three blond men are stranded on an island. Suddenly a fairy appears and offers to grant each of them a wish. The first blond man asks to be intelligent. Instantly, he is given brown hair and swims off the island. The next one asks to be even more intelligent than the previous one, so he is given black hair, he builds a boat and sails off the island. The third blond man asks to become even more intelligent than the previous two. The fairy turns him into a woman, and she walks across the bridge.”
Anyway, it’s quality, not quantity, that counts, and maybe one day women will outnumber men in blogsphere. Your views are welcome, au revoir…
Hi Ellee
Thought I’d better just point out that I have nothing personal against blond men! The joke is an extract from my e-book “How to Make a Fantastic First Impression (or Why We All Fall For Tall Dark & Handsome Men!)
If anyone wants to hear more, I’m talking about the report at the Inspirational Speakers event in Cambridgeshire on Monday 14th August.
Harrumph – I’m blond (in a good light), or maybe it is just the grey hair peeking through…..
Hehehe, Anon is living in a fantasy land if they think they are anonymous on the internet. The internet is exactly the same as real life, and those such as anonymous who choose to believe it isn’t, are the ones who are successfully scammed!!
Have a super holiday, can’t wait for the photos :o)
Ellee – if you’re trying to encourage hits onto your blog, then going on 2 weeks + holiday, incommunicado, immediately after changing your blog site probably isn’t a too good an idea!Incidentally, hadn’t you already just returned from at least one other holiday in Burnham Market? Isn’t life just a gas!
Anon, of course hair colour matters not a jot, it was a lighthearted comment which was meant to be provocative, and it seems I succeeded. When others have written about the shortage of women bloggers, I have always made the same comment that gender should not count, but maybe it does for some women who feel they can identify better with sites written by women.
Peter, Just returned from hols. I decided to launch my new site before I went away as I knew I would lose readers and I hoped they might link up to my new site in my absence. I know I will have to work hard now to entice them back.
My summer with my family is always special time and this year our cruise was exceptional, it is the first time we have ever had a holiday like this before and the week in Norfolk involved staying for free in a mobile home owned by my in-laws. I hope you have managed to get away for a break too.
